Nations of the World

Kush – The Black Kingdoms

A loose confederation of independent states, each with their own dominant God-cult. Re-incarnation is a frequent occurrence. Some pan-cultural minor gods worshipped throughout the kingdoms. Kushite Gods are an equal mix of Gods of Light and Dark.

There are no established magi, only some witch-doctors and hedge wizards, as a consequence they are very poor in Magical items.

Most magic items are acquired through trade. There is an established trade between the Turkhanate and various Kushite Kingdoms, with Magic weaponry being traded for Slave warriors, A mix of captives taken in battle, volunteers and Draftees.

Kushite Slave warriors are often used as bodyguards, as they tend to be loyal and fearless, though somewhat fatalistic and rash, as they seek a valiant and glorious death, in order to hasten their re-incarnation.

No’ordani – The kingdoms of the North

Uncultured, rough, martial, valorous, and a constant source of Threat, the No’ordani are Monotheists, worshipping a powerful War god, Forkhos. This Single God makes their priests uniquely powerful, with magics capable of challenging the most powerful Magi of the Turkhanate. They also have a number of moderately competent Magi, but they are hampered by a lack of co-operative ability.

Outcasts and adventurers from amongst the No’ordani come to the Turkhanate to seek their fortune, and make dependable bodyguards and henchmen.

Keleb’Tani – Horse Barbarians

Steppe Nomads, generally awed by the Turkhanate, nonetheless they will occasionally raid the borders. Tribal Shamen and petty sorcerers are the limit of their magics, largely because they do understand High Magic and parents of mage-born tend to come to the Turkhanate to hand over their child in return for a life of un-paralleled luxury.
