* The Riyal is also worth 1 virtue. Virtue is the standard unit of noble exchange, being one spell level worth of power. i.e. by expending one point of virtue a mage can cast an additional 1st level spell.

 

Virtue is found in numerous things, magical beasts, blood of sentients (inherently dangerous, as it has a tendency to draw spirits and demons to the area), exceptional gemstones and other naturally occurring rare things.

 

Characters start with as much credit available in virtue or Riyals as they have charisma.

 

They may borrow further to the value of their charisma again, but these loans will incur interest…
