Factions

Dwarves - Living as they do beneath the mountains little is really known about their power or attitudes. When the magi first visited the Dwarves they were politely received, a chest of light pebbles was correctly identified as being of little value, however they still gave generously in gems of Virtue. Despite controlling the golems that guard the the Iron Bridge they let pass an army of Orcs (albeit for a unspecified high price), whether reveals this weakness or simply a mercenary streak, is unknown. In another meeting grain was gratefully received and a demand for more foodstuffs was expressed. In return Dwarven architects and stonemasons were loaded to the Compact for 6 months. Despite the best efforts of the magi to befriend the Dwarven engineers they appear to prefer their own company and have lodged in one of the abandoned guard towers of Aquallat. If threatened the magi expect the Dwarves to simply disspear into their halls and leave Dis'Panad to its fate.

Elves - The constellation is on friendly terms with the elves. The Orcs do not trouble the Elven forest, however military cooperation against the Orcs is currently being debated amongst their people. They are found of Turkish wines and spices which they offered to trade for rare woods, plants and crafts.

Orcs - The Orcs inhabit caves in the hills between Baranul’an and the great river. Despite a failed attempt by the Constellation to attack their caves, little is known about their power. What is certain is that they number over a hundred, use trolls and giant bats and are accompanied by a priest. Months ago an army of Orcs crossed the iron bridge and disappeared into the wilderness, nothing has been seen of them since. It is expected that the Orcs are planning to invade Des'pond and defenses are being prepared accordingly. The greenskins are perhaps the greatest threat to the survival of the Constellation.

Bandits - With the death of their leader the power of the bandits has collapsed. Since their downfall a slow trickle of former bandits have made their way back to Aq'uallat, these men reason one ruler is much like another. They have found themselves welcomed back by the Constellation which is desperate for manpower although the peasants are slower to forget their past deeds.

Undead - A great deal of undead dwell within the ruined town east of Ilmanar’an. Although currently it is not a serious threat to the Constellation it appears the necromancer who raised them has been collecting bodies for some future plan. Recent expeditions into the town have greatly reduced their power.

Bilal Fief - The magi of Bilal are old and established sorcerers who rule from behind their strong city walls. They wield more powerful magics and their wealth is far in excess of the Constellation. While they have been polite and hospitable it has been no more than expected by Turkhanate custom. They seem to have little interest in meaningful cooperation and prefer to use the younger magi as a buffer to extend their own domain. Zunshit and Bilal appear to have some agreement between themselves despite their protestations to the contrary.

Lizardmen- Very little is known of the mysterious Lizardmen who dwell south of the great river. It is said in the Turkhanate that they ride monsters into battle and guard temples overflowing with gold and potent magical artifacts. The Constellation have yet to make contact so nothing can be said of their strength or disposition.

Zunshit - The town is Zunshit is ruled by Nebunnadar, by all appearances a honorable sorcerer who treats his subjects well. Relations are friendly and Nebunnadar has recently agreed to a mutual defense pact. The Constellation has previously attempted to strong arm Nebunnadar into vassalage, however with little to offer and no way to threaten him he politely declined. The Constellation has also tried to him over through other means, exchanges of worship and spells have gone down well, although an offer adopt his apprentice was rebuffed.
